Inspiration
label.m Brand Ambassador, Fabio Scalia creates a diverse range of beautiful styles for Domingo Zapata's New York Fashion Week debut, Love X Fashion X Art “Art to Wear” Collection. Celebrities in attendance included, Lindsay Lohan, Dakota Lohan (model, pictured) and Kelly Killoren Bensimon.
The Hair
“Domingo’s show was like no other show at New York Fashion Week. He put his artistry and vision into the clothes for a beautiful, interactive, production. He had several themes planned throughout the show with influences from Urban Youth to Spanish Culture. Each theme deserved its own look and feel, so the styling all depended on his vision. No model had the same hair look. We created some reverse braiding to showcase mixed textures. We did an amazing, slick topknot to bring out his Spanish-inspired looks and Matador. His Urban theme called for a cool, young city look, working with structured textures to bring the street theme to life. The Collection
Famed contemporary artist, Domingo Zapata showed his new Love X Fashion X Art “Art to Wear” collection at the infamous NYC theatre, The Box. Zapata, along with partner Bernard Aidan (founder of Catharine Malandrino), created five theatrical presentations showcasing his latest work.The performances featured gender fluid models and performers, including his personal muse Jessica Stamp, who reenacted a “human” bull fight wearing authentic hand-painted traje de luces boleros. Other performances included Zapata’s iconic Pandas that can be spotted in various locations around the globe and flamenco dancers from his native Spain.
