International session stylist, Matthew Curtis creates delicate waves and playful, cheeky ponytails for Memere.
The looks at Memere were ethereal and classically inspired by 19th century romanticism. The presentation was a beautiful combination of effortless, tousled curls and ribbon- accented ponytails that seem almost too perfect for this world.
The Memere FW17 collection builds upon the beginning capsule collection for the brand, inspired by the Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi; the condition of coming to terms with traditional ideas of beauty and imperfections. This was the most prominent inspiration behind the new collection. Other periods of history, such as the romanticism of the early 19th century and the Industrial Revolution, were other sources of inspiration, and are seen in the use of romantic embroidery and delicate lace.
Sarah Julia LeBlanc, raised in an antique home on the river in Newbury, Massachusetts, has deeply influenced her appreciation for classic beauty, which colors her work with ethereal tones embodying the ideals of romanticism.
